Finished wrath/khorne chaos warriors of the dark gods

After a few experiments with colour schemes I have finished the first six warriors of wrath/khorne.

These bros need to be hit with the dull coat to tone done the gloss shade but I am really happy with the finished product.

Below are the paints and the respective washes I used on the colours over an oxide red primer from FINE surface primer.

Sloth/ Nurgle Chaos warriors of the dark gods

Have been a bit light in updates as I have been in GI Joe collecting and repair mode.

Notwithstanding, I have managed to pump out some more warriors with a combination of weapons options to go with various ones painted earlier.

These dudes just need some highlights and bases to be done and they will be ready to spread the disease.

Knights of Sloth/Nurgle finished

I have now finished the final six Chaos knights to finish my unit of ten.

These last six included the champion and standard with the remainder wielding hand weapons and shield.

With these finished, the unit is ten strong and although ranking is an issue., the old GW movement tray kit has a bit of give.  When I get the magnets on with some magnetic strip in the tray, the boys should fall unit line.

Really happy with the finished unit and looking forward to getting the unit on the table when the zombie apocalypse is over.

Warriors of Wrath/ Khorne

Although I am not a fan of practically anything GW has done for AoS lately I was always a fan of the bad boys of Khorne.

The only issue with them entering the 9th Age is their crazy poses make ranking in 40 mm bases. With my recent acquisition of a head of some of the earlier AoS khorne bros, appropriate ranks and flanks can be achieved using some careful placement and multi basing on some cavalry bases.

The bsb dude was another matter so he needs some arm rearranging that resulted in his big hammer hanging off the front of his base to allow him to join the 9th age on square base.

Paint scheme will be the traditional gold trim and blood red armour.  Silver will also be used to break up the metal.

Chaos Knights of Sloth/ Nurgle

After being happy with my first test model for my chaos knights of sloth/ nurgle.

Two more lance wielding bros and a musician bring my total to four finished.

I have the rest of the command group and a couple more hand weapon and shield bros that when finished will belting the total number to 10.

Ranking up was always an issue with these GW knights and these guys are proving to be no different.  Some wider movement trays and strong magnets should keen the lads in line.

Even more Chosen Warrior conversions

Managed to add a few more chosen warriors thanks to a new delivery of 40k conquest.

Weapons are a mix of great and hand weapons so they will bulk out each of the current finished units.
A couple need some green stuff touch ups but most were limited to a bit of chopping and hand and / or weapon swaps.

Chosen Warriors with great weapons finished

Here in their best sloth / nurgle glory are the bulk of my chosen warriors with great weapons.

Ranking up will be a challenge, especially for the muso, but I am sure I will find a solution.  I have also posted a back pic to show how I use cloaks to cover the 40k power armour being too blatant for the command group.

Next on the painting desk will be some knights with lances.

Chosen Warriors of the Dark Gods with great weapons

After a short break I have managed to get back into painting up the great weapon wielding Chosen Warriors.

Painting is about 70% finished with highlights and basing to come.

I really like the command group which although are currently causing me a little grief with ranking up, it’s nothing some strong magnets and steel movement trays can’t fix.
