Araby Palace Guard and Character

First up is my unit of 14 palace guard for my Araby army. The mins are part of the harlequin now black tree design Saracen range and are perfect. I have another two blisters including the command group on their way from different parts of the world.

Next is one of my favourite GW minis, Suliman the Saracen who I have rescued from his service to Bretonnia to rejoin his araby brothers.

The horse is from black tree design to match in the other cavalry I have already finished. This mini did not have his original shield so I subbed in one from some 3d prints.

Araby Cavalry

The last of my converted Araby cavalry have been finished. When completing these I decided as they would represent heavier cavalry they would have liberated tomb king shields.

The unit is now finished and are ready to leave the plains of Araby for the old world.

New dwarf lord and shield bearers

Here is my new dwarf lord on keg with drunks aka on shield with bearers.

The lord is the Bugman mini from his bar at warhammer world one of my bros bought me back from his visit there.

The drunks are from the best dwarf range that still comes in metal, black tree design: http://eoeorbisuk.com/collections/fantasy/products/fa0917-drunken-dwarves-3?variant=4539064323

it's not a crime to stomp elves whist drunk
Hurray for Bugman's 6X

For all of those gen x's that remember when dwarfs were short, stout, hairy and drunk, black tree keep the dream alive compared to GW's rather lacklustre non plastic range.  Although I am a fan of the new GW plastic hammerers, nothing beats an army that not only hits like a tonne of bricks but also weighs a tonne of bricks.

Therefore my dwarf army is made up of mainly black tree dwarfs who fit in nicely with most dwarfs from 4th to 7th edition before GW sent them to be "man-scaped" - seriously when did slayers drop the barrel chests and beer bellies for abs to grate cheese on!

Check out the rest of the black tree range of dwarfs here: http://eoeorbisuk.com/collections/fantasy/range_dwarves?sort_by=price-descending

Black tree design

I received some great news this week that black tree design are having their end of year sale.

If you are looking for a great range of minis to bulk out your fantasy or historical collections you can not beat black tree.

I have many of their warriors of Islam for use in my araby themed bretonnian army and their dwarf range is simply the way dwarfs should be presented - stout and full of beard: http://www.blacktreedesign.com/restofworld/home.php?cat=2314

They have a fantastic world war 2 collection with a superb range of character minis too for this period.

Check them out and help support this great company: http://www.blacktreedesign.com/restofworld/home.php?xid=c0eb643b8cd032bffbc8da1dd0a6dccf
