Marauders/Barbarians of the World Unite Part 3

More marauder/barbarians with spears.  This update has the champion and the musician and a couple more bros.

I followed the mix of skin colour I tried in the previous post that I think breaks up a large horde unit.

I also added some bigger rocks as painting brown bases constantly came across a little too plain for these dudes from the North.

Here they are with the rest of the painted dudes.

Although my original plan was to get to 40 man units I think I will settle on a 32 man unit as I am getting pretty bored and want to move on to great weapon marauders/ Barbarians next.

In the meantime here is a sneak peak of the next batch including the suitably oversized banner.

Marauders/ Barbarians of the World Unite

I decided to mix up the skin tones of the next batch of marauders/barbarians.

I used a couple of different shades of GW paints and am pretty happy with the result.

The thought behind the mix is my chaos warriors of the dark gods attract the biggest and baddest hombres from the old world/ the 9th Age who travel north in search of infamy.

I need to hit them with some dull coat due to the gloss and ash and then they will be ready for the battlefield.

Khorne Marauders/ Wrath Barbarians with spears

My next unit is up to 40 odd marauders/ barbarians with spears.

I have run out of those great old round shields so most be without them until the raiding party returns with some loot.

Painting followed the same method as my khorne/ wrath dudes: https://ironhaiden666.blogspot.com/2020/05/first-group-of-painted-wrathkhorne.html

Slaanesh/ Lust Chaos Warriors of the Dark Gods Chariot

This is a repaint of a second hand chariot I picked up.

To match my others of this particular persuasion, these dudes are always rocking some serious blonde locks.

9th Age Game

Some photos from an intro game using my first warriors of the dark gods vs orcs and goblins.

Had a blast, warriors are one hell of a combat machine and there will be more to come.

My list that should not have had a mounted lord with a spiked shield as it is infantry only

My friend took his Orcs with three big blocks, choppy orc characters and a couple of Gobbo wizards.

mvp was the chosen lord And chosen knights who took out the giantbefore it could swing and then went into the iron orcs.
Runner up was the chosen infantry.

lvp was warhounds who I need to use better.

Orc lord and his ead bashers were my opponents mvp as they went through the barbs and then through the sloth warriors and the wizard.

sloth knights were also very good for me.

overall it was a great game and my bro will be back.

Chosen knights/ skull crushers

Another three chosen knights/ skull crushers finished.

These dudes are conversions of the plastic chaos knights including an axe/mace combination that I think looks suitable for a chosen follower of wrath/khorne.

The juggernauts are the old metal GW version that came with bloodletter riders who have made their way into my lead/plastic pile of shame.

Usual crappy iPhone pics below.

Chaos/war hounds

After a recent bring and swap I finally got some old GW metal chaos hounds to use as warhounds in the 9th Age.

As I have brown and flock bases I went for a white wolf paint job.

I used the white contrast paint and a wolf grey with black wash for the fur.

I have twelve finished but will usually run them as two units.

It’s time to release the hounds.
