For update 5 please see here.
Really happy with how these bros have turned out and the unit now has a full command and most weapon options available.

Barbarians/ Marauders Update 5
For update 4 please see here.
I have now finished the conversions of the remainder of my barbarians/ marauders.
I wanted to have a mix of the weapon options available so I now have bros next with hand weapon and shields, some flail / great weapons and a couple of arm and weapon swaps to break up the single pose of these guys.
Batch painting will begin over the next few days.
Ranking up should be ok as demonstrated below.

Barbarians/ Marauders Update 4
After a successful raiding season on the northern wastes I finished the basing and final touches to the five barbarians from update 3.
Below are the first finished 8 bros. My plan is to get to a unit of approx 30 dudes with a mix of weapons to represent the various options - hand weapon shield, flails and great weapons.
Today I need to get some more paint as I have run out of bleached bone and beasty brown. As the bone is the main colour used I am going to get a GW undercoat spray to speed up painting.
I will return to the chosen warriors when my GW chaos warrior great weapons arrive.

Barbarians/ Marauders Update 3
This will be my last update for a month or so as the family and I are on our way to northern chaos wastes aka Santa’s village in Finland.
Anyway, with a few hours before we leave I finished the next five of the barbarians/ marauders with the exception of their bases.
The champion is the bro with the two axes and GW marauder body and a suitably mutated head.
When I return it will be back to finishing the 17 odd bodies left for the 25 man unit.
I have also converted the musician with a simple arm swap of a horn from the beastmen for plastic set.

Work in progress barbarians / marauders update 1
Below are some WIP pics of my new barbarians of sloth/ marauders of nurgle.
The minis come from the 40k conquest kit and fit very nicely on the 25 x 25 base.
Skin tones are bleached bone hit with a reikland fleshshade and then bleached bone, skull white highlights. Weapons, bones cloth follows my usual approach from other posts.
More to come including some conversions for the command group.

Putrid Blightkings Update 2 - first four finished
For update 1 please see here.
After a little delay I have finished the first four of these badass bros on 40x40 bases.
The below pictures are prior to some dull coat so I expect the gold trim and silver weapons and armour to tone down a little.
Ranking up is fine in various options and I look forward to the next project below that will be some nurgle marauders/ sloth barbarians. Again these are straight from the 40k conquest kits and apart from needing a few grenades to be removed, the conversions so far are limited to the standard bearer below.

Forsworn update 1
As part of my update to my twenty five years old Chaos Warriors of the Dark Gods army, I have decided to convert the terminators from the 40k conquest periodical into Forsworn for the 9th Age.
The terminators needed a mix of conversions mainly to chop off storm bolters to be replaced by paired weapons. I found an orc arm with a large meat cleaver and added some extra spiky armour plates that seemed appropriate for the sloth/ nurgle theme.
I decided to break up the dull greens and browns to paint as many of the non bone tentacles pink and purple with some black boils.
The rest of the painting followed the same recipe as the chosen warriors prescribed here.
The below are some work in progress shots and I hope to finish the unit in the next week or so.

Chosen Warriors Update 3 - first six finished
Just as the title suggests, the first six of my chaos space marines converted to fantasy Chosen for Chaos Warriors of the Dark Gods are now complete.
I am really happy with how they turned out and I hope to get this unit to about 12 in the coming months. Next will be the Fallen and some suitably infected barbarians.
