Nords Werewargs
My Nords army for Conquest continues to grow with a unit of Werewargs.
These bros were painted similar to my previous Nords with a black undercoat with shades of white drybrush.
The remainder of the painting used speed and contrast paints and various highlights using GW and Vallejo paints.
The “rocks” are tree bark with a black undercoat and drybrush of whites.

Mountain Jotnar - Nords
Next up from the Conquest starter set is the mighty Nord Mountain Jotnar.
Painting started with a black undercoat and various grey to white drybrush.
All the colours were speed paints with various highlights.
The size of the jotnar meant I could go to town on the skin town starting with a GW contrast paint up to a pale skin tone from Vallejo.
I wanted the skin to reflect the hard life this dude has had and think I captured a pretty well worn look.
This is a true centrepiece mini so I spent more a fair bit of time on this bro but tried to keep the colours consistent with the other nords I have finished.

Grim Dark Plasma Conduits
Some more 40K terrain is finished with these plasma conduits.
I wanted them to be grim and sludgy with the only “clean” areas the plasma sections.

Ravenwing Outriders
Next up for my Dark Angels are my first unit of Primaris Outriders. These are the easy to build minis and were exactly that, as they assembled very easily.
Consistent with my heretical approach to painting I wanted them to have the iconic black power armour but with a green shoulder pad with the classic chapter symbol and the ravenwing decal on the right shoulder.
I also wanted the bikes to be the classic “dark” green I have been using for my other Dark Angels. The armour starts with black and then a dark bone and white dry brush. Following the green speed paint I use the Vallejo greens to highlight the edges.
With some more outriders and an ATV in later issues of the imperium periodical, the Ravenwing will continue to grow.

Hobgoblin Lords
With a WAP games day coming up I decided it was as time to repaint a couple of legendary Hobgoblin Lord minis. The plan was to build a suitable ride for our beloved leader the Great Hobgoglah Khan and to add another hero to “help” rule the steppe.
Painting used a variety of speed and contrast paints over a white undercoat.
My favourite piece is a 3d printed wolf that I have built a howdah out of shields and insulation strips for the “fabric” on the sides of the wolf.
As this is the personal ride of the Great khan his barded wolf has a couple of GW skeleton spear added to represent the additional save and status of its rider.
The wolf rider lord is one of my favourite minis and he will be out front leading his unit.
No idea who this old school WAP list will go tomorrow but I am sure fun will be had by all.

Nord Bow Chosen
For something different I have started building up a Nord army for Conquest: the Last Argument of Kings.
First up are the 12 bow chosen from the starter set.
Painting involved a black undercoat with a white dry brush whilst still on the sprue. This meant after assembly I was ready to paint.
Painting used lots of different speed paints followed by highlights with regular Vallejo and GW paints. The minis are 32 mm in size and paint pretty quick.
Next up are the huscarls.
40K terrain
Another piece of the imperium periodical completed for my 40K terrain collection.
I wanted to go with a weathered rusty look achieved with washes over white, bronze and other metals.

Ballistus Dreadnought
My last space marine to be painted from the Leviathan box is the mighty Ballistus Dreadnought.
The colour scheme was inspired by my recent finishing of the Deathwing Sternguard Veterans. I liked the finish of their bone white armour and gold trim so copied the scheme it for the dreadnought.
Weapons followed the same scheme of the vets with black and boltgun metal/ silver the dominant colours.
Despite my initial dislike of the off centre pose and long legs, the dreadnought has grown on me.
Here is the full leviathan marine side finished.
With the leviathan marines finished, it’s time to finish some more Alpha Legion until my next delivery of marines from the imperium periodical arrive.
