Blight King

Another model finished (albeit started in 2021), this time a chaos warrior Blight King.

I have recently started playing the Warhammer Armies Project and tried this unit out in my last game.  Pretty tanky and I now have a unit of five converted from the 40k terminators I picked up from the conquest periodical.

I really like how he turned out as I tried a few different techniques to lighten the armour and the smoke.

Although there was no conversion I think the bone in the axe tones down some of the 40k look of the mini.

Japanese Imperial Army

Off to the start of a new painting year with a flame thrower and sniper team from warlord games.

Great minis and am looking forward to using them in 2022.

Although I finished him late in 2021 here is my Japanese commander. Another mini from warlord games.

Chain of command Kota Bahru airfield

Our Singapore campaign continued with a Japanese invasion of the kota bahru airfield.  These amazing boards were built my my buddy Lee and will be pride of place in a upcoming game at the WA museum:

The fast moving Japanese surge forward seizing the early objectives.

The flame thrower takes out two of the bunkers as the Japanese continue to push towards the objectives at the back of the commonwealth line.

Thanks to multiple consecutive turns, the Japanese win the game.

Despite a successful charge the Japanese forward charge take a battering and are pinned.

A bike is stolen- a sign of things to come.

Brutal hand to hand combat wipes out the commonwealth forward infantry

With the bunker out of action and the tank crew a little rattled from the flame thrower, the Japanese infantry surge towards the objectives.

The mortars kept the Japanese safe behind its smoke.
Despite the loss the commonwealth keep one of their prized push bikes.

And here we are prior to the battle beginning
