3D printed archers conversions

One of mates printed me a heap of these awesome hobgoblins from fabelzel. You can find more of his awesome sculpts here.

Unfortunately, I needed some more archers so it was time to take the hobby knife to these dudes. The resin cuts very easily and using the spares bow arms from the Russian alternative wolf riders I now have more archers.

These are great sculpts and fit in very well with the classic GW hobgoblins.

3D printed hobgoblins with spears

I had painted one of these dudes before but as I needed some more bodies in my current list I thought I would finish off the other two minis my mate had finished for me.

As they were already undercoated I used Vallejo paints and GW washes.

I mixed up the colours of the clothing to break up the somewhat similar sculpts. After 30 years of painting  uniforms the same I have finally broken and started mixing up albeit using the same palette of colours.

Mongoblin Spearmen

I was never quite happy with my original Mongoblin spears so decided to ditch the green stuff heads and go with goblin wolf rider and night goblin heads on the Mongolian bodies from fireforge games.

I am much happier with the final product especially the crazed look of the command group.

Shields come from a 3d print except for the champ who has one of the marauder round shields.

Skin tones are again lighter with Vallejo paints.

Oglah Khan and his wolfboyz

With my first WAP tournament approaching I needed to finish off a new Oglah and the second unit of kheshig.

These are definitely some of my favourite miniatures from the golden (90s) range from GW.

I decided my earlier version would be the first unit champion and the second is to be the real Oglah. I continued my lighter skin tone over contrast paints for the skin, wolf hide and armour. Am really happy with the finished product.

The extra boyz (the z is intentional) had a slightly different paint scheme with more leather to break up the sculpts.

Finally, here is the complete unit of kheshig ready to kick ass across the old world.

Mongoblin Kheshig

With my first WAP tourney approaching it was time to finish some more hobgoblin (or mongoblin as I prefer) elite cavalry or kheshig.

This will be my second unit and feature Oglah Khan himself.

I changed the minis around from those who usually carry the horn and the standard and also converted a champion to be holding an axe.

As these are my second unit I went for the lighter skin tone of my more recent hobgoblins but kept the core colours and basing of my older minis.

I have another four to finish in the next month.

Also recently finished is a crew member to match in with the other recent Bolt thrower crew I finished. Again using the lighter skin will differentiate them from the other bolt thrower and crew I have in my current tourney list.
