Warpsmith

The characters of my Alpha Legion continue to grow with the addition of a Warpsmith.

Much like the others and despite his best efforts to avoid the warp, he too is also gradually merging with his weapons and armour but remains “loyal”.

The painting followed my Legionaries with the warp touch applied to his tentacles of his trade.

The red cables and on the hammer are there for a bit of contrast to the blue, silver and green used in my paint scheme.

The Warpsmith’s job will be to hang back and keep my war machines in a fit state.

I have also started a repaint of some of my older Alpha Legion that was pretty simple and only needed a coat of the kroxigor scales over the power armour.

Master of Executions

The hydra has a new character to lead up front with this mighty Master of Executions.

Painting of the power armour, weapon and cloth followed the approach of my Legionnaires.

The one exception was the skin cloak that used a mix of elf, dwarf and pale flesh paints followed by a crusade skin spore paint.

The skin hat/mask (that’s what I call it) that the master is wearing was painted with pale skin and a few light washes of reds and purples. I doubt the skin was removed from its former owner willingly.

I am about to assemble my second Legionaries unit that will feature mainly melee weapons. It’s my plan to have this bro up close and personal with that unit.

I also managed to sneak in an old chaos space marine transfer on to the flesh cloak that seemed appropriate.

Chaos Sorcerer and Havocs

My new Alpha Legion force continues to grow with a Sorcerer and a unit of Havocs.

The recipe and painting followed the approach of my new Legionnaires.

The sorcerer was already assembled and the only change was to snip the spikes (as a few were missing) from his staff.

This is a great mini with the backpack suitably adorned with dragon/ hydra heads. I like the green and ref contrast on the cloak and his toga.

Although the pics are not great I am very happy how his angry face came out.

Next up are the mighty havocs. I went with two lascannons, auto gun and chain cannon - the latter two for the look more than anything.

The cables. tubes and other connections were all painted the same green mix to continue my theme that being on the run for so long has seen a gradual connection of the body, armour and weapon.

I have used these guys once and they attracted a heap of fire some so called loyal knights so am keen to get them back on the battlefield.
