Shar’tor the Executioner/ Taurukh Commissioner

Although he was destined for the age that shall not be named, the Shar’tor miniature from Forge World had to be brought into the 9th Age.

Thanks to my handy dremel the oval base was cut back to fit on a rectangle base. Shar’tor will be used as a Taurukh Commissioner in his first outing this week.

As usual I expect him to be targeted early as we all know that he who is painted best and most recent, dies first.

        Selections: Ogre Slave Crew

Created with BattleScribe

Going character heavy was intended to try out which build of the general I preferred - overlord or prophet.

My opponent ran a couple of beastmen units, chariots, a big block of minotaurs and one of each of the nasty monsters.

The game was a back and forth struggle with the beast monster and dogs hitting the blunderbuss with the prophet and bsb.  Took a few turns and lots of magic buffs eventually took down the big guy.

The immortals with the overlord withstood the front charge of the minotaurs and ousted them back only to later be hit again in the front and the flank by the chariots who had used the backstabbers as a speed bump. The immortals fled and were wiped out when I failed leadership check on ten twice by rolling eleven twice!

The Titan mortar did not hit much during the game which was disappointing.  The Orc slaves look cool but ran off when they had a chance to shine.

The little Taurukhs did not do much and the bigger versions who scared off the centaurs early in the game eventually made it around the board to charge the Shaman only to then be hit by the rock throwing monster.

We called it quits there but MVP went to the blunderbuss unit with the prophet and BSB.  The alchemy buffs made this unit pretty resilient and I was super impressed by how devastating their blunderbuss are in the shooting phase.

The immortals with the overlord withstood a Minotaur charge and pushed them back but could not catch them.

I think my next version of the list will include wolf riders as chaff and probably some more infantry units.

In the battle for the general I think I will drop the overlord and go the prophet with the points saved to add some more warmachines.

Taurukh unit

I have managed to finish a few more Taurukh for 9th Age Infernal Dwarfs.

After to the deletion of the miniatures formerly known as bull centaurs I began converting these bros into infantry.

However, since the dawn of the 9th Age they are back in pride of place in my army along with the potential to take their bigger brothers, the Taurukh Annointed.

I rate these miniatures as some of my favourites evil empire miniatures of all time and I hope to include more of my favourite minis in coming posts.

More bull centaurs finished

I have finished a couple more baby/ bull centaurs including the standard who is a conversion with a magic mould of the original BC standard that I used on the BC renders.

I still have the BC standard who will have a new weapon or maybe become the musician. The plan is to have ten of these bros ready for when 9th Age 2.0 drops.

As usual the banners are colour copies from the White dwarf presents : Chaos Dwarfs with some touch ups to keep them in line with the purple theme of my army.

Taurukh Annointed / bull centaurs renders

With the evil empire killing off the old world I have embraced the 9th Age.

The infernal dwarfs are their equivalent of the mighty dawi zharr and with the option for both Taurukh Annointed and the regular Taurukhs I have been busy finishing off as many of my unpainted artists formerly known as bull centaurs.

Bull centaurs return to battle

Thanks to the wonder of the 9th Age the original bull centaurs miniatures are usable again.

Here are my miniatures ready for battle.

Finished bull centaur Taur'ruk

Bull centaur Taur'ruk conversion from one of the forge world bull centaur renders.

The big hat is simply a plastic chaos dwarf warrior hat with some horns from the 5th edition skeleton warriors box set.

Really happy with how he turned out but I have yet to decide what war gear I will equip him with.
