These are some pics from my recent Nords vs Sorcerer bros game.
I managed a one point win with only two stands of archers left against a rather cranky elephant.
The warriors of the north continue to grow with my finished unit of trolls.
I used the below contrast the following speed paint blues to get a little variety in the skin tone as I did not want them to look like a unit of smurfs. The paints went straight over the usual black undercoat with dry brush white/ grey highlights.
I decided to go bright in the hair as a throw back to the troll toys of the 80s and 90s again using speed and contrast paints.
The did well in the first game so have been rewarded with this cool paint job that I really dig.
Next up for my Nords is a Vargyr Lord and a unit of Ugrs.
Painting used my usual black undercoat and various dry brushes of grey and white.
All the remainder colours were achieved with contrast/ speed paints and lighter highlights.
The Lord has a slightly darker cloak than the others in the army as his skin has a light blue colour.
The Ugr skin was achieved by a gw blue wash and various highlights.
I was impressed by both the Lord and the Ugrs in their first outing so they will be a regular feature in future games.
My Nords army for Conquest continues to grow with a unit of Werewargs.
The remainder of the painting used speed and contrast paints and various highlights using GW and Vallejo paints.
Next up from the Conquest starter set is the mighty Nord Mountain Jotnar.
Painting started with a black undercoat and various grey to white drybrush.
All the colours were speed paints with various highlights.
The size of the jotnar meant I could go to town on the skin town starting with a GW contrast paint up to a pale skin tone from Vallejo.
This is a true centrepiece mini so I spent more a fair bit of time on this bro but tried to keep the colours consistent with the other nords I have finished.
For something different I have started building up a Nord army for Conquest: the Last Argument of Kings.
First up are the 12 bow chosen from the starter set.
Next up are the huscarls.
