Alpha Legion Legionnaires 2

 My revised Alpha Legion is slowly being reinforced with a second unit of legionaries.

This unit is more melee and close range focussed with a heavy melee weapon, second bro with a plasma pistol and another with a plasma gun. All other dudes have bolt pistols and chainswords.

The heavy melee is demonstrated by a large spear conversion which seemed appropriate for the sons of the hydra. The wielder also gets the honour of carrying the chaos icon for some reroll of those dark pacts.

Painting followed the approach of the First legionaries unit with the same contract of the yellow green on the larger symbols/  weapon blades and red across all cloth.

I went with the alternative chapter symbol of a single hydra to differentiate them from the first unit of legionaries.

The next five are ready for the paint table.

I also repainted my old Chaos Lord from 7th edition who I always liked and gave him the necessary bigger base for 10th edition.

Blood Angels/ Necrons vs Ravenwing/ Necrons

 Had a doubles game with each of us space marines teaming up with necrons.

1000 point for each player did not leave me with much of  my Ravenwing after I was encouraged to take the Lion. He took a couple of shots to the face and eventually fell to a psyker with a force axe.

Conquest LAOK Game

 These are some pics from my recent Nords vs Sorcerer bros game.

I managed a one point win with only two stands of archers left against a rather cranky elephant.

Chaos Dwarf baggage train and Black Orc Warboss

 With a teams old world tournament this weekend I needed to make a baggage train and paint up a Black Orc Warboss.

Rather than a train I went with a suitable bronze bull statue and the command group from my Lost Kingdom Chaos Dwarfs. These bros all have individual sculpted curly beards.

Apart from making the base this was an easy build with the idol/ statue/ baggage train coming up great.

Next up was the Warboss who is the old GW plastic black orc champion who got an old chaos marauder shield and a repaint of his weapons and armour and a little extra purple.

This was pretty easy with the following paints for the bronze over the old leadbelcher painted sections.

A little bit of purple over the cloth and orc glyphs and he is ready to punch on with this unit of black orcs which were part of my award winning band SLAVER.
